    Gun owners will die today.
Gun owners will die tomorrow. Gun owners will die every day.
What becomes of their weapons? Pistol, rifle, assault weapon…whose hands will they “fall” into? I am not aware of ANY procedures, laws or specific guidelines covering this issue. I have spoken with countless people; gun owners and non owners. No one seems to have any knowledge of this subject. How many gun owners are in this country? Where do their weapons go when they pass away? Do the kids divide them amongst whoever wants them? Does Uncle Fred take them?
This a NO BRAINS ISSUE! There needs to be measures enacted ASAP to control these weapons. I believe every rational person would agree on this matter whether they are gun supporters, or not…gun owners or not. It does not matter if I am for, or against, guns. A few suggestions are as follows:
    • Cradle to grave gun control. Just like automobiles. Title when manufactured, re-title at each and every transfer. You want to own a gun? You pay to register it!
    • Compare death certificates against gun ownership registrations. (Funded by revenue from registering)
    • Enact legislation concerning family/household (presumed gun recipients) members responsibilities; including restrictions on transfer, placing with responsible parties pending disposition, etc.
    • Enact legislation concerning persons receiving guns as the result of someone’s death.
    Get the point????
I could go on and on…the way people do and get nothing done. Help us all on this issue by publicizing it until our lawmakers act on this apparent huge gap in responsible gun ownership.
WHAT WILL BECOME OF THE GUNS OF THOSE WHO PASS AWAY TODAY? …TOMORROW? …FOREVER???
