There are now close to 97,000 people who have signed the petition to demand that Dr Sisley be allowed to complete her PTSD research at the U of A:

It goes beyond uncivilized and barbaric for legislators like Kavanaugh, Biggs, and Yee to try to keep medicine from children and others who can benefit. Kavanaugh, Biggs, and Yee continue to listen to the voices in their heads rather than to any external voices of reason. These are the truly vile and wicked people who care only for profits of private prisons and not the quality of life of those in Arizona. They supported giving a million dollars in unsolocited funds to private prisons while our children are left with the lowest per pupil expenditures in education in the entire nation. Support our veterans and the people of Arizona. Insist that this important research be completed.

Kavanagh is part of the problem but do not forget Sen Yee, the head of the education committee. Another report was released recently that listed our per pupil expenditures as the lowest in the nation.

Montgomery said there has been no decision whether to appeal, but he said Cooper may have to clarify whether the 2 1/2-ounce limit applies to the original plant material or what's left after the extraction process.

    CHAPTER 28.1
    ARIZONA MEDICAL MARIJUANA ACT
    36-2801.  Definitions

    15. "USABLE MARIJUANA" MEANS THE DRIED FLOWERS OF THE MARIJUANA PLANT, AND ANY MIXTURE OR PREPARATION THEREOF, BUT DOES NOT INCLUDE THE SEEDS, STALKS AND ROOTS OF THE PLANT AND DOES NOT INCLUDE THE WEIGHT OF ANY NON-MARIJUANA INGREDIENTS COMBINED WITH MARIJUANA AND PREPARED FOR CONSUMPTION AS FOOD OR DRINK.

Montgomery's reading problem is not improving. He must have gone to school in Arizona where republicans don't fund education rather they fund private prisons. Perhaps Montgomery is just delusional in that he reads alright but sees only what he wants to see and not what is written. Let's take a wild guess that an extract is a preparation thereof and is defined as "usable marijuana" under the statute... It is time for the republicans to stop messing with what was a clearly written voter initiative. They show only disdain and disgust for the voters of this state. Perhaps the only way to get medical marijuana to those who can benefit is to legalize it and to regulate it like alcohol.

Steven Yarborough is the Arizona senator who introduced SB 1062. He is a republican who is up for reelection this year. Rep. Steve Yarbrough, Dist. 17, is the primary author of the SB 1062. Reps. Nancy Barto, Dist. 15, up for election 2014, and Bob Worsley, Dist. 25, up for election 2014, both co-sponsored the bill. Please place a note on your calendar to donate to the opposing candidates before the November elections. Any help would be appreciated by the people of Arizona to remove these intolerant legislators from office. We can take out the bullys when we all work together.
