What I'd REALLY like to tell the Sheriff's department? Goodness... where to start?

I'd start with "thank you". Thank you for putting your life on the line, every day, to protect our community. Thank you for helping others, though you are sorely underpaid and under-appreciated. And, in that vein, I'll add "I'm sorry"... Sorry for the individuals out there who will take any cheap shot they can to thumb their nose at law enforcement, who enjoy the protection you provide but would rather stir discontent.

No police department is perfect, just as no person is perfect. But I read this article, and my heart feels heavy... The discussion is careers in law enforcement, and I feel you are soliciting individuals to come and bash the Sheriff's department. I am all for thoughtful discourse, especially when it comes to government and community protection, but I request you (and all individuals who you are inciting to "cop bash") still respect that law enforcement risk life, limb, and mental well-being every day to make our community a better and safer place (I assure you, they certainly do not do it for the money!).
