The answer, which Huppenthal is too cowardly to give, is simply that it is a contradiction of their beliefs. And is in fact an example of "situational" ethics. Or if you will: If it feels good (for us GOP party members in Phoenix) then do it. The GOP once railed against situation ethics as the morality of goats and monkeys.
