First of all, Jesus Ween is certainly no dumber than "Indigenous People's Day", which we are supposed to observe tomorrow instead of Columbus Day.
Second, so let me see if I understand this. Trick-or-treating is a pagan religious custom by which children dressed as ghosts and demons come to people's doors, uninvited, and publicly beg for treats. And if christians choose to push back on this by putting bibles in the treat bags, that counts as "public proselytizing"? Hmm. I think the pot is calling the witch's cauldron black here.
It is interesting that the national media completely lost interest in this story the second Mr. Banks revealed that John McCain's remarks were accurate: the overwhelming balance of evidence strongly suggests that border crossers started the borderlands fires.
A superbly written and thoroughly researched piece. Well done, Mr. Banks. It's clear that any reasonable person weighing the evidence objectively would conclude that the Monument, the Horseshoe2 and the Murphy fires were started by people involved with illegal immigration and/or drug policy.
What is troubling about this issue is how casually people ignore the facts because those facts are politically uncomfortable. When John McCain suggested that illegal aliens started some Arizona wildfires, the response of the political left was no "Is McCain right?". Rather, it was "McCain's a mexican-hating, senile old racist!" Conservatives are rightfully criticized when they elevate their emotional prejudices over the facts - the same should apply to liberals.
What is most troubling, however, is the politically correct censoring of the facts that is occuring among our federal officials, where everyone knows who started these fires, but no one is permitted to actually say it, for fear of offending someone.
And by the way, when I read these pieces, my first thought was "Wow. These are some serious problems affecting my State. I should write a letter to my Congresswoman." Then I realized, again, that I don't have a Congresswoman.

Why is that same media (Mr. Banks excepted) completely uninterested in who actually started the fires?
