Maybe it's time for EVERY band to take a shot at making a musical. Why would anyone want to limit the creative outlets for creative people? True, the Musical Stage is fickle and extremely risky, and its probably also true that most musicians are completely out of their depth with that very specific and different (from their experience) media, but please -- creative people PLEASE continue to take risks. Nothing BETTER ever came from backing away from a project because it might not work to everyone's satisfaction. I'd never heard of Stew before Passing Strange and I didn't know any of Green Day's music before Broadway's American Idiot. Those musicians reached a whole new audience and created exciting new works by taking a shot. -- Please musicians, do Take That Shot!!
