The more money the city gets, the more it will spend on stupid things like:
The modern streetcar, Scott Ave, a video about Tucson that nobody saw, a restaurant that nobody goes to, MOMA, graffiti lessons for kids, appointed committees, cars for city council members, electric car charging stations, public television nobody watches, etc., etc....
The proposed streetcar does nothing that a bus line wouldn't do. They even make busses that look like trolleys. Austin, TX has a great bus/trolley system.
Unfortunately the streetcar will not do the one thing it should do, which is bring people downtown. It does nothing 99% of Tucson's all-year population, the people who don't go downtown because there's no reason to and it's not worth it.
And Gramdma Suzy, the streetcar won't be free. Our city government can barely keep Suntran running, do you really think they are going to build this streetcar infastructure and run it for free?
