Gee, did they just build these Air Force Bases in the last few months? I don't think so. If you wanted quiet and you moved here in the last 30 years then you obviously bought a life time supply of ear plugs or you are tolerant of a little noise. If you can't handle a little noise then Ajo is in your future!

    Re: “Best Sushi
Are we talking best, or most, or largest Sushi service type restaurant? Because the best in my opinion is Ginza. From presentation, taste, service, ambience and selection Ginza is way in front of many of the Sushi Houses in Tucson. Yes a little more (very little), a little further away (OK, a lot further when you live on the southwest side) but who cares when the offerings are this good.

On the North Side Lupita's is great. Lunch specials are tasty and filling. The soups are all wonderful! On the South side, Maria's Cafe across from the VA on South 6th Ave. is my favorite spot. Great simple Home cooking, clean, and great service. I've been going there since the late 80's before I was a resident.

Absolutely the best izakaya and Sushi in the city. If you do not see it, it was not available fresh. Always friendly service with the best in presentation.

Smoke and mirrors. What a waste. This is a bold attempt to hold on to a small voting block. Spend Spend Spend for a bus on a rail. If you want to make downtown more attractive, a parking garage or two is needed. With the bottle necks recently created, it takes more time to get into downtown and a case of urban road-rage to move through the city. The Counsel has created another reason to stay away from downtown. Why does the northwest, east side and now the southwest side grow? It is ease of traffic and a more modern road system. Put the bikes on the bike paths and modernize the private vehicle. Personal conveyances are the only modes of transportation that will allow the city to grow.

This epitomizes what is wrong with the Gem Show. Here you have an Artist/Vendor selling a bowl made from what? Certainly no recognizable stone-gemstone-mineral. It is becoming a flea market in some areas of the city. Without a little more control, it will only get worse.
