where are our Federal government spendthrifts? Sending money and troops all over the world and leaving our borders in a mess. Maybe the Obama administration can postpone the jaguar sanctuary until they fix the drug smuggling horse situation
Thanks to Tom Vanderpool the citizens can continue to keep an eye on the illegal activities at the local and State level. If our "paid employees" in State & local Government would do their jobs maybe the abuse and inhumane treatment that goes on at Tucson Greyhound Park can begin to be alleviated.
Tom, Susan, Jamie, Dr. Forrer, you deserve a big thank you from all of us to believe the law and the enforcement of the law is not only required in the USA, but the decent thing to do. Laws are designed to make us a civilized society--to bad we have those who think and do otherwise.
Our schools suffer, our roads are falling apart, we talk of tax increases to off set our budge short fall----yet we allow
Tucson Greyhound Park to go "tax free". On top of that TGP sends $2M+ a year to the owners... want to see what Consolo does his money? Here is an excerpt from The Robb Report, 2002: Robb Report – September 2002:
It began as boxes within a box. To be precise, 35 boxes of what Fredi and Robert Consolo modestly call their “accessories” had to find a home within a contemporary box – a penthouse overlooking Miami’s neon-blue Biscayne Bay. What emerged is a glamorous interior in the profoundly appropriate Art Deco style.
Google it for the whole story and remember where the money came from----your tax dollars!
Great reporting Tim Vanderpool. Keep it up, maybe our legislators will listen!
This is getting unbelievable! Tucson Greyhound Park is an embarrassment to Tucson. Taylor is an embarrassment to human-kind and the ADOR, PACC, City of South Tucson and the Attorney General of Arizona should all be ashamed of themselves. Why don't we all ignore the laws, because they are inconvenient and difficult to enforce. We are becoming a 3rd world country, thanks to our "elected" officials. Shame on you for getting paid to do a lousy job. How do you sleep at night-- you take drugs?!!
Nothing in this news story is surprising. Years and years of reports like this just show that the only way to clean up this mess is to close TPG until it meets ADOR specifications. Additionally, ADOR needs to become even more aggressive with enforcement.
It tells you something about Taylor when he says he is willing to "eat off the floor". Why not have a luncheon with reporters invited to watch!
