On this day fifty-seven years ago, October 15th, 1955, Buddy Holly opened for Elvis Presley in Lubbock, TX, an important milestone in his brief career. Having just a brief 4-year career, Holly influenced most major acts of the '60's and was one of the first to use the standard 4-instrument (guitar, guitar, bass, drums) band which is still popular until today.
