They haven't really needed to, considering "Get Lucky" has spent the last few months challenging "Blurred Lines" as the song of the summer, but Daft Punk have done a minimal amount of promotion for their album Random Access Memories. SNL teaser commercials and promo videos with their collaborators, sure, but as far as I can tell, the only things the duo have actually had to show up for have been the debut of a branded racecar and an interview for a profile in GQ. Nice work if you can get it, I suppose.
However, because they're obligated to confound people with their decisions, Daft Punk are scheduled to appear on the Colbert Report on Tuesday, August 6. God only knows what they'll be doing on there, considering they haven't really performed live anywhere else for this album and aren't generally inclined to do interviews, but they'll be there, likely wearing their fancy helmets. I'll be watching, so publicity stunt successful, I suppose.
