In the middle of his ethics hearing today, Arizona State Senator Scott Bundgaard quit. It probably would have been a little better for the institution of the Senate if he would have saved everyone some trouble and resigned earlier, but whatever.
From Senate President-elect Steve Pierce:
Today Senator Scott Bundgaard submitted a letter of resignation from the Arizona State Senate. I accept this resignation. I believe Scott did what was best for himself and for his family, and for the State Senate as well. I appreciate his service to the Arizona State Legislature and respect what I know was a difficult decision for him.I am hopeful we can put this distraction to rest and start the upcoming legislative session with our full focus on working for the people of this great state.
