Book summary:

A recent Internet search for 'December 21, 2012', produced over a hundred million hits. In addition to the sites on the Internet, there are thousands of books on it as well. It is clear that learning the story of 2012 is a daunting task. Obviously, the first ones to ask would be the Mayans. They were the ones who created the Long Count calendar that brought December 21, 2012 to the world’s attention. This book summarizes their message and provides information from astronomy, archeology, astrology, religions and ancient stories that support their message. It is also a handbook for those who have been able sense the changes that are occurring. 2012: Transition and Transformation, is a basic guide to the ancient stories and science that binds all life together and the prophecies that foretell the possibilities of the journey that is before us.

Author bio (from the author):

Writing a biography in four-hundred and fifty words or less is a difficult task if you've lived much beyond your teen years. I am a woman, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a wife, a mother, an aunt, a grandmother, a writer, and a student. I am deeply involved in all these rolls, but even more importantly I am a member of humanity during a time of great chaos and transition. I have a great love for our planet Earth and the plants, animals and people who inhabit it.

When my nieces and nephews asked me about 2012, each book I read on the subject led me to another book. Each website I accessed brought me to more websites. Curiosity soon became fascination and this book was born. The message of 2012 isn’t about stockpiling or trying to hold on to the material goods we have. It is about remembering the cycles that drive our connection to each other and the universe. It is remembering that mother Earth is a vital living being that is far older than we are. She deserves our respect and our constant guardianship and respect.
