Clearly, as the November 15th release of Gabby by Mark Kelly and Gabrielle Giffords approaches, there will be a lot of talk of the book and its contents, especially here in Tucson, and the first significant look at the book's contents came from the Associated Press today, which somehow got ahold of the book in advance.
A few interesting things from their preview:
• The book is nearly entirely written by Mark Kelly, although Giffords contributes a page of short sentences and phrases titled "Gabby's Voice", which includes a statement that she intends to return to Congress. Giffords will read that final chapter as part of the audiobook release.
• Due to her injuries, Giffords has lost 50% of her vision in both eyes.
• Giffords and Kelly were in the process of trying to have a child before the shooting, with Giffords undergoing fertility treatments in recent years.
More from the book, including some information about when Giffords found out about the six deaths at the Safeway on January 8th, in the AP article which can be found online.
