Does the name Rebecca Loebe ring a bell? Apparently she was on some show called The Voice. I could Google it, but that would sort of negate the health benefits I've accumulated by ignoring television for the better part of the past decade.
Whoever she is, she calls her music "post-brontosaurus indie folk/crunk," according to a press release I received this afternoon, and she's performing at the Abbey Eat + Drink later this month. I’ll post the press release after the jump.
Contestant on NBC TV’s ‘The Voice’ to Perform Locally as Part of
Nova Financial Services Concert Series
September 13, 2011 (Tucson, AZ) — Georgia native Rebecca Loebe, a young singer who has attracted a national fan base following her appearance on NBC’s hit show The Voice, will perform in Tucson at a free concert on Friday, September 23, at The Abbey. Her appearance is sponsored by Nova Financial Services, which launched a free concert series in Tucson two years ago.
“We are delighted to bring Rebecca to Tucson, and to introduce her unique style and beautiful music to the community,” said Brittany Gomes of Nova Financial Services. “We’re also pleased to be partnering with The Abbey for this free concert, which is the perfect neighborhood atmosphere for a great dinner and show,” she continues.
Loebe’s music, which she calls “post-brontosaurus indie folk/crunk” in style, has been celebrated by national stars in the music business including Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine. She is currently on a national tour, and will be performing at venues in Arizona, Texas, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Vermont, Oklahoma and Kentucky.
In addition to Loebe's performance, the local flamenco band Tesoro will also entertain the crowd.
The outdoor concert will begin at 7:00 pm at the popular foothills restaurant, which is located at 6960 E. Sunrise Drive, on the southeast corner of Sunrise Drive and Kolb Road. The Abbey will be offering a special happy hour from 3:00 pm — 7:00 pm that afternoon, and will have three dinner seatings available, at 5:00 pm, 7:00 pm, and 9:30 pm. An extended happy hour will continue from 8:00 pm — close.
Reservations for the dinner seatings can be made by calling 299-3132.
