I should admit up front that I haven't heard The Globes at all. Cassie Van Gelder from Seashell Radio sent me a link to their Facebook page and mentioned that her band would be playing with the group from Spokane, and I kept meaning to click the link and check them out, but once something slips down the inbox, it might as well disappear completely at times (sorry, Cassie!). Remembering that the show is tonight, I thought about listening to their tracks online today, but I realized I would probably enjoy the concert more if their music was nearly a complete surprise. Cassie has good taste, the show is free, they're on a generally trustworthy label (Barsuk), so why not just go and take in the group with a clean slate? Hopefully the YouTube embed I linked above is actually music, so if you'd like to get a sense of what The Globes are all about, feel free. But, if you'd like to take a minimally risky chance (a free Seashell Radio show is worth showing up for, at very least), the doors open at 7:30 at Club Congress with Optimist Club to follow.
