Ian Murphy, the guy who pranked Wisconsin governor Scott Walker, is running for the New York congressional seat vacated by Craigslist cruiser Chris Lee. I don't know if I'm optimistic for his chances as a Green Party candidate to take the seat, but at very least, the guy has enough of a sense of humor to wear a funny sweater and read his notes from his hand, while still retaining some vague principles of what he would do if he wins.
Still, this video makes me a little sad for the forthcoming, and likely wildly dull, city elections. Sure, Ron Asta's mayoral candidacy is good for a few ready-made steak jokes, but otherwise, the races so far are lacking in actual personalities. There's still time, people. Get out there and make me some funny videos to post.
