Tonight: Parents With Inquiring Minds

Posted By on Thu, Mar 3, 2011 at 3:52 PM

In the Tucson area, there are about 1,000 kids who are affected by war and have a parent who is deployed. These kids, who are often dealing with the stress of not having both parents in their life, sometimes have a hard time dealing with school.

To help combat this stress, the Department of Defense is funding a worldwide, 24/7 online tutoring program that is free to military families. Tutor.com enables students to connect with a live tutor 24 hours a day, seven days a week for help with homework and test prep in math, science, social studies and English.

Military parents, students and educators are invited to attend "Parents With Inquiring Minds," a seminar that will show the online tutoring program in action. The event is tonight, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Murr Community Center at Fort Huachuca.
