Ready to protect the 14th Amendment? Put Monday, Jan. 10, the first day of the Arizona Legislative session, on your calendar for the Hold Russell Pearce Accountable Event, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Arizona State Capitol in Phoenix in the Senate Lawn Area.

From Citizens for a Better Arizona and former U.S. Senate candidate Randy Parraz:

It’s time for citizens to demand more from their leaders when it comes to addressing real problems like the budget crisis, job losses, foreclosures, funding for public education and health care for those most in need. As Senator, Russell Pearce has exploited the politics of fear, hate, and division to champion bills and policies that have been detrimental to Arizona.

We need to match Senate President Pearce’s determination to move this state further in the wrong direction with a new resolve to act now and move Arizona in a more progressive direction.

Join us as we send a message to newly appointed State Senate President Russell Pearce that his extreme legislative agenda will not be tolerated by Arizonans. If you are interested in being part of this effort, please contact Randy Parraz at (602) 284-9745 or email him at rap7power@gmail.com.

More details will be provided as the date approaches. This is not a protest or rally with numerous speeches. Participants will hear from those most likely to suffer because of Senate President Pearce’s legislative agenda and everyone will be asked to act together to put Senate President Pearce on notice that his extreme bills and beliefs will not be tolerated any longer.

*Citizens for a Better Arizona is a newly formed coalition of concerned citizens committed to improving the quality of life of all Arizonans — better schools, better health care, better jobs, better government and a better, more civil tone of respect and decency when it comes to solving Arizona’s problems.
