Starting Saturday, Nov. 13, the Islamic Center of Tucson will offer a beginning Arabic class. It's free and open to the community and no registration is required. The class begins at 4 p.m. and is located in the main hall of the center at 901 E. First St. There's also a 2:30 class on the Quran, if you'd like to take both.
So, get your salaam on, and learn those handy phrases like, "Good morning! Sabah el kheer" or "Good evening! Masaa el kheer." Or better yet, "I'm lost! Ada'tu tareeqi!"
Although I'm not sure if all the exclamation marks are needed, especially if the person you talk to hasn't had their morning coffee.
