Republican newcomer Terri Proud took the lead ahead of Reps. Nancy Young Wright and Vic Williams in the Legislative District 26 House race, but she's not letting her slim margins go to her head.

"I don't anticipate making a victory speech until at least tomorrow," she says.

Williams is pulling last but took the stage to boo his Democratic opponent and remind the crowd that it's not over yet.

"Stick with me folks, it's going to be Terri Proud and Vic Williams."

Sen. Al Melvin made his first appearance of the night saying, "We have a historic thing happening where we're going to have a veto-proof Arizona Senate with over 20 out of 30 Republicans, and we think a veto-proof Arizona House with over 40 of the 60 Arizona Representatives as Republicans - Good things are happening."

He says the people chose him over his Democratic opponent Cheryl Cage because of her big-spending, big government, socialist Obama agenda.

"What's at stake here is capitalism versus socialism, and the people don't want socialism either from Obama or at the state level," he says.
