Another childhood memory gone. Magdalene Gerrish died April 5 at the age of 87.

I've been looking for video clips of her legendary commercials for Szechuan Omei Restaurant on "Eassa Spee’way." But I can't find any. According to an obituary, she opened the restaurant in 1977 and ran the place until she sold it in 1999.

Here's more:

She took her brassiness to serve as a caregiver at the Waverly House until her little feet could carry her no more. Born in China, she came to America as a teen studying English and nursing and landed in Tucson in 1958 where she served patients at St. Mary’s Hospital for 21 years. She is survived by her children, Andy (Tweety) Gerrish of Tucson, Teresa (Michael) Morris of Moraga, CA, Mark Gerrish from Casa Grande and Grandchildren: Alex, Megan, Michael , Jack, Katie, Elizabeth, Emily, Mark, Kelsea and great —granddaughter Lex.
