Thank the gods for digital-recording devices that allow you to put the wee ones to bed and catch up on shows like the Grammys last Sunday. What's even better is being able to forward through meaningless dribble, like the lavish display of affection given to Coldplay while Kings of Leon were snubbed (should have let them perform at least). I wasn't happy.

But our quick-Grammys run-through perked up when MIA performed with Jay-Z, T.I., Lil Wayne and Kanye West. The best movement on stage: MIA's 9-month pregnant belly! Forget Demi Moore's pregnancy-magazine cover on Vanity Fair from long, long ago. A true feminist image that should make all working women proud--watching a very pregnant woman work and not hide away! She worked it!

After that, I think we zoomed through the show, epecially when Coldplay got more attention. It was cool to see legendary jazz bassist Charlie Haden on stage and what shocker--I didn't know one of his daughters married Jack Black.

See, it's good to watch these shows--especially if they've been recorded.
