In order to get this press release in the paper for the Feb. 1 issue, I would've needed to receive it during the week of Jan. 22, the earlier, the better. Instead, I got it today. It's possible that I could've received it from Feb. 2-4, as while I was on vacation, most of my e-mail bounced back.

I decided to post this press release, because I think it's a good idea, although I edited out the syrupy parts. I wish more restaurants did this.

Rockin’ Baja Lobster salutes Tucson’s military and their families. On Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 5 p.m. to close, Rockin’ Baja Lobster is showing their thanks to our local armed forces by offering a 15 percent discount off their entire bill.

The owners of Tucson’s Rockin’ Baja Lobster, Kenneth McGovern and Rod Barreda, wanted to honor our country’s heroes with a night to enjoy a rockin’ good meal.

Start off with a variety of zestful and fresh shrimp or lobster appetizers. Rockin’ Baja Lobster’s claim to fame is their signature Baja Buckets loaded with Mexican spiced shrimp, lobster, crab, chicken and steak, all served in a festive steel bucket. (Festive steel bucket -- somehow I cannot picture that.) Baja Buckets are perfect for any size party and will ensure that Tucson’s military and their families will leave full and satisfied, as every bucket is served with an all-you-can eat Caesar salad/fresh salsa bar, warm fresh flour tortillas with honey chile butter, and family-sized platters of ranchero style beans and Mexican rice.

Rockin’ Baja Lobster is located at 7131 E. Broadway Blvd on the northwest corner of Broadway and Kolb. Call 721-BAJA (2252). Although the press release doesn't state it, you probably have to show some form of military I.D.
