Tucson's Birthday Flag-Raising Ceremony

When: Sat., Aug. 20, 8-10 a.m. 2011

The five flags that have flown over Tucson-- American, Spanish, Mexican, Confederate and the state of Arizona--are presented by color guards in period dress in a ceremony to celebrate Tucson’s 236th birthday at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 20. The Tohono O'odham Nation and Pascua Yaqui Tribe flags, and a replica of the 28-star American flag that was brought by the Mormon Battalion also are presented.
