Tucson Fashion Week 2013

Internationally renowned fashion designer Betsey Johnson headlines a series of fashion and performance events organized by Paula Taylor and Melanie Sutton for Tucson Fashion Week 2013, Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 17 through 19. A presentation of work by local designers, a student textile competition and viewing of historic Native American design and textiles takes place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Tucson Lifestyle Desert Art museum, 7000 E. Tanque Verde Road; $35, $25 for students with valid ID. Johnson is featured at a runway and ensemble presentation at the Tucson Museum of Art at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18; $35, $25 students with ID, $70 runway seating. VIP admission includes cocktails and culinary creations by Tucson mixologists and chefs inspired by original Betsey Johnson collections; $150 also includes the runway show. A party and awards presentation featuring celebrity guest designer Bert Keeter of Project Runway takes place from 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, at La Encantada, 2905 E. Skyline Drive; free.
