Southern Arizona Salsa and Tequila Challenge
Fifty chefs and restaurants compete, and guests are the judges, at a salsa challenge at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 24; $45, $40 in advance. Entertainment is provided by Ballet Folklorico de San Juan at 6 p.m.; and by flamenco ensemble Tesoro at 7:15 p.m. Pinatas hang in the shopping center's courtyard, and visitors can vote for their favorites as part of the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Fiesta Fantastica, a fundraiser for college scholarships the organization provides.
