Don't Let Carpetbaggers Gut Beautiful Rosemont Valley

If you think greed always wins, think again. People who care really can stop a mine. They truly can protect a precious natural jewel.

Augusta Resource Corp. wants to dig a mine in Rosemont Valley, on the Santa Rita Mountains' northern flanks. This Canadian company hopes to profit at our expense. They've hired PR hacks to spin their mission. But no amount of spin can take away an ugly hole in the ground and restore wildlife habitat.

At 9 a.m. next Tuesday, Jan. 16, the Pima County Board of Supervisors will debate the issue in their hearing room at 130 W. Congress St. Only Supervisor Ray Carroll has taken a stand against the mine.

Don't let carpetbaggers gut this beautiful valley! Show up and support Supervisor Carroll--or, if you can't make it, call your supervisor (see Editor's Note for phone numbers) and kindly request that he or she tell Augusta to go to hell!
