Road Noise

Our job here, it seems to me, is to make sense of things for our readers. We don't cover the news of the day, we provide perspective on the news of the day.

This week's issue makes my point. Jim Nintzel steers you through the congestion that inevitably clogs any talk of roads in Tucson. His "Uneasy Street" informs about what's ahead--decades ahead--for Grant Road. The intent is to provide voters with information they can use to give the city a stop or go on the proposed transportation tax.

One of our critics, Pamela Portwood, doesn't just lament the financial problems that have beset the Dinnerware Gallery cooperative. She seeks to help you understand why the gallery is struggling for survival.

Of course, we haven't neglected the here and now. Witness our arts and music coverage, our take on food, on politics, on current events. After all, this is the weekend of Club Crawl, our spring fest downtown. We'll let our hair down Saturday night and have some fun, then come back at you next week with more of our take on what it all means.
