DRIVING CRAZY

NORTH KING STREET

AUG. 19, 7:27 P.M.

A couple was followed home by a verbally abusive neighbor, a Pima County Sheriff's Department report stated.

The reportee said he'd been driving home with his wife when a female neighbor pulled up behind them and started tailing them, all the while yelling and cussing. She had a yellow light on the roof of her car, the man said, which she turned on and pointed at them.

When the couple tried to pull into their driveway, they said, they were prevented by the neighbor, who pulled in front of them, exited her vehicle and continued to yell and cuss. The man said his peace had been disturbed.

When deputies met with the neighbor, she at first acted innocent, asking what was wrong and denying knowing any neighbors at all. Then—in the middle of saying she'd been at a friend's house during the time of the alleged incident—she departed from her story with a slew of random statements, saying "they were all white trash, and they are drug-dealers."

Asked who "they" were, she said she didn't know, but "they" were always speeding down her roadway when school buses were in the area. She mumbled to herself and continued to talk about drug-dealers and white trash. When told about her neighbors' report of her following them, she interrupted the deputy and said, "They are liars. They are all liars and white trash."

She was arrested on two counts of disorderly conduct.

DETOX AHEAD

WEST MANGO DRIVE

AUG. 23, 4:39 P.M.

A drunk man threatened his pastor with a large garden tool after a 12-step meeting, according to a PCSD report.

Deputies met with a female, who stated that her boyfriend left earlier that day to go to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, and had come back 4 1/2 hours later—extremely intoxicated.

The woman said that when the subject tried to get the car keys back from her (as she'd apparently taken them from him), she refused. At that point, she said, he got very angry and locked himself in their shed.

The woman then called their pastor to come over and try to calm her boyfriend down. When the pastor entered the shed, she said, the subject grabbed a shovel and told the pastor, "I'm gonna kick your fuckin' ass," and, "I will hit you with this shovel."

The subject was arrested; during his arrest, he was very belligerent and called the arresting officer a variety of names. He was booked for domestic violence/disorderly conduct and other charges.
