A government worker got an illegal bonus when he bought a pack of beer, said a Pima County Sheriff's Department report.
The man called a sheriff's deputy to report that he had purchased a 30-pack of Bud Light at a Circle K. When he got home and opened it, he said, he found a clear plastic baggie filled with a white, powdery substance he believed to be cocaine. He said he worked for the Department of Corrections and did not want that type of thing in his house. He had no idea how the baggie got in the case of beer. (The reporting deputy "had an idea how it got there," but neglected to go into specifics.)
The baggie and its contents were taken into evidence.
Just Getting Some Gum

A teenage boy thought it was no big deal to steal his guardian's luxury car, said a PCSD report.
Sheriff's deputies met with the boy's foster father, who said his neighbors saw his 15-year-old charge zooming down the street in his silver Audi at approximately 40 miles per hour. The boy, by that time home from his outing, initially denied the theft, but upon further questioning admitted to the crime. He had taken the car to "go and get gum," he said. He didn't know his actions were "grand-theft auto."
The Audi owner wished to press charges; the boy was arrested and booked for unlawful use of a means of transportation.
Fare Fight
UA Area, May 10, 12:05 a.m.
Two cab drivers got into an altercation over passengers, suggested a UA Police Department report.
UA police were called to the Coronado Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St., and spoke with the driver of a standard taxi, who told them he had been parked when a van taxi pulled up, and 10 females began to enter it. The reportee said that he had gotten out of his own taxi and approached the van taxi, where he told the driver to "move his fucking vehicle" and informed the females that only six were allowed to ride at a time. One female called him an "asshole." The driver of the van exited his own vehicle, began cursing, punched the reportee, grabbed his neck and choked him. Several other cab drivers who happened to be nearby pulled the attacker off his victim, and the alleged attacker exited the scene.
Police located the subject a few blocks away in his vehicle. He admitted that he and the other taxi driver had been cursing at each other, but insisted that he had merely "accidentally bumped" the other man.
Neither man wanted to press charges, and the issue was dropped.
