Police Dispatch

Voodoo Ham Hocks

West Gates Pass Boulevard and North Camino de Oeste April 30, 3:35 a.m.

Deputies arrested a woman who allegedly came home late at night talking to herself about black magic, a Pima County Sheriff's Department report stated.

The woman's father called authorities from a pay phone near his home. He said his daughter had awakened him with shouting about smelling crack, practicing voodoo and other things he didn't understand.

The report stated that the woman was in a frenzy when deputies arrived at the home. She said she could smell crack, because a corrections officer had given her ham hocks which contained the drug.

The woman later told deputies she was going to leave, resulting in a scuffle when they said she couldn't go until they had finished their investigation, the report said. A deputy used a stun gun to stop her from struggling.

The woman was booked on charges of domestic violence and resisting arrest. Her father asked that she receive a mental health evaluation.

Quick Sale

West Cortaro Farms and North Thornydale Roads, April 26, 1:29 p.m.

Authorities cited a teen after he allegedly admitted buying a marijuana pipe from a man who claimed to be on probation, a PCSD report said.

When deputies confronted the teenager about where he got the pipe, he said he'd purchased it from a man who he has seen before, but didn't personally know.

The teen claimed the man told him that his probation officer was on the way, and offered to sell the pipe for around $10--even though the man said it could easily fetch three times that.

Deputies told the teenager that the man could be arrested for selling drugs to a minor, since the pipe had what appeared to be marijuana in it.
