Primavera Cooks Brunch

The summer-long fundraiser, Primavera Cooks!, changes pace from dinners to a New Orleans-style Sunday brunch at Kingfisher on Sunday, Sept. 14. Guests can choose from one of six entrées and make repeat visits to the buffet for amazing salads, sumptuous side dishes and desserts worth dismissing the diet for. No brunch is ever complete without champagne flowing--or, for you hard-core oenophiles, wine. Diners pay $125 (which includes gratuity; a portion is tax-deductible). Funds raised directly benefit Primavera's programs and services, helping low-income, homeless and at-risk people obtain self-sufficiency and find dignity in their lives. To reserve, call 623-5111, ext. 101. Visit the Web site for the remaining schedule.

Build Your Own

If you can dream it, you can build it--as long as it's a margarita or a mojito, at Hotel Congress on Tuesday and Friday nights starting Tuesday, Aug. 26, from 5 to 9 p.m. Choose from a buffet of fresh ingredients including berries, prickly pear, watermelon, cilantro and mint, plus some surprises. Select your spirits and liqueurs, then invent your own libations. Drinks start at $3 at 311 E. Congress St.; 622-8848.
