Award: Santa Cruz River Farmers' Market

EatingWell, the magazine whose tagline is "Where Good Taste Meets Good Health," has recognized Tucson's Santa Cruz River Farmers' Market as 10th on its list of America's Top 10 Farmers' Markets. The article is in the July/August issue, at newsstands now. EatingWell asked its 1.6 million readers to nominate their local favorites. The market is open on Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Santa Cruz River Park, west of Interstate 10, one block south of Speedway Boulevard, at Riverside Drive and Ontario Street.

Culinary Road Trips

Every summer, Kingfisher adds the road-trip concept to its menu. Let your palate leave home without filling up the gas tank. Through July 26, go back East; July 27 through Aug. 9, eat California- and Hawaiian-style foods, then head down South from Aug. 10 through Sept. 2. Kingfisher is located at 2564 E. Grant Road; 323-7739.

Brothers on the Move

Feast is moving. Don't panic! The new location will still be in midtown, but it will be somewhat bigger and have more parking. Right now, owner Doug Levy is hush-hush about the location but will reveal all once the negotiations are completed. The anticipated move will happen in the fall. Meanwhile, Mitch Levy, owner of Cuvée World Bistro, will be dividing his time between the new Cuvée Bistro on the outskirts of Aspen, Colo., and his current location at 3352 E. Speedway Blvd.

Moving Sale

In a previous column, we mentioned that the Dish and RumRunner were moving across the street (to 3131 E. First St.). The RumRunner really doesn't want to carry everything across the street, so from July 21-30, receive a 25 percent discount off selected gourmet foods and condiments, wines, limited-release spirits and other items at 3200 E. Speedway Blvd.; 326-0121.

Closed

There's been a flurry of closings: Evangelo's Scordato's Restaurant, Metro Grill at Park Place, Famous Sam's on 29th Street and the Apple Farm Bakery and Restaurant. Go to blog.tucsonweekly.com and find the post called "Closed Tucson Restaurants" to share your opinions.
