New: Trattoria Della Famiglia
Gusto Ristorante at 6060 N. Oracle Road has closed, and Trattoria Della Famiglia opened in the same location about a month ago serving authentic Italian food made from products imported from Italy. Owners Massimo Trovato and Amy Martino (daughter of Anthony Martino, owner of Anthony's in the Catalinas) offer that the food is low-fat and high-flavor. The antipasti course arrives on a cart, and you can pick and choose from traditional items such as artichokes, roasted peppers, white fungi and more. Reservations are advised by calling 219-7226; open Monday through Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m.
New: Café Passé
Sabine Blaese owns this new café located next to Antigone Books, at 415 N. Fourth Ave. She named the café after a restaurant where she worked in Germany, because they both have a serene outdoor patio and intimate ambiance. The café offers coffee drinks, Sunday brunch, sandwiches and salads; 624-4411.
New: Level Lounge
From the folks behind 58 Degrees and Holding Co., Level Lounge is an upscale nightclub with a full bar that took over the square footage of Ovens, Adobe Wine Deli and Abygail's Bakery. Open Wednesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. until closing (2 a.m. on weekends), Level Lounge offers a bar menu with appetizers and desserts, along with a reverse happy hour on weekends from midnight to 2 a.m. (regular happy hour is from 5 to 7 p.m.). The Lounge is also open Sunday with a DJ on the patio from 2 to 7 p.m., with service industry night until midnight. It's located at 4280 N. Campbell Ave., in St. Philip's Plaza; 615-3835.
