Hurricane Katrina Follow-Up

Tucson is an altruistic town, but we like to follow up and find out who made what. In one day, Raging Sage donated $3,000 to the Red Cross; that's a whole lot of lattes and French-style scrambled eggs. Raging Sage went one step further and paid all employees who could not afford to donate their time. During September, the French Quarter donated 5 percent of its entire sales, with $5,800 going to Katrina support. On Oct. 5, restaurants all over the country, along with the National Restaurant Association, united for Katrina relief efforts. At Fox Restaurant Concepts, 100 percent of the profits were donated from their restaurants in Arizona and Colorado, for a grand total of $25,000. In Tucson, the restaurants included Bistro Zin, NoRTH, Sauce and Wildflower.

During happy hour, enjoy a glass of wine (as long as it's less than $10) along with an appetizer for only $10 total, from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. Cuvée is located at 3352 E. Speedway Blvd.; 881-7577. Check out www.cuveebistro.com for the new fall menu and wine list.
