Noshing Around

Zayna's

Zayna's, a locally owned and fairly new fast-casual Middle Eastern and Mediterranean restaurant, can be found at 9095 E. Tanque Verde Road, where Le Buzz Caffe and News was before moving into a bigger space a few doors to the east. Owner Riad Altoubal proudly proclaims chicken shwarma, gyro and falafel as house specialties; open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; 749-4465.

Bloo Fish

Another sushi joint has splashed into the Old Pueblo at the former Sushi World space, at 1800 E. Fort Lowell Road. Bloo Fish (which is erroneously listed by Qwest as Bloo Fin) is open daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 to 10 p.m. with a full sushi bar and Japanese menu. The owner, who didn't want his name mentioned, formerly worked at RA. Coming soon to the industrial black and blue setting will be a happy hour; 327-0150.

58 Degrees in the Foothills

According to Kathleen Carter, executive sommelier for 58 Degrees and Holding Co., a retail wine venue by the same name will open at St. Philip's Plaza in part of the former Ovens. What's happening in the other part is still a mystery. The ideal temperature for wine storage is 58 degrees.
