Super-size Me

In our society where bigger is better in regard to cars and food, McDonald's announced the end of super-sized products. With obesity a growing problem, especially for children and teenagers, McDonald's will be adding more lean meats, fruits and vegetables to their menu. Say goodbye to the 7-ounce carton of fries--but you can still embrace the large 6-ounce portion.

Green Beer and Squeak

Pastiche will celebrate St. Patrick's Day on March 17, with corned beef and cabbage along with bubble and squeak and Irish soda bread. And for those who absolutely must--green beer. Bubble and squeak is made from equal parts mashed potatoes and chopped cooked cabbage, mixed together and fried to golden brown. The name comes from the sounds made as the ingredients cook. Reservations recommended. 325-3333. 3025 N. Campbell Ave.
