Bye Bye
The bad news is Dao's Hunan--a restaurant with Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai food--has closed. Although the inside was ornate with lavish chandeliers, the outside suffered from terminal dreariness. The good news is Dao's Vietnamese Restaurant on Wilmot Road next to the library remains open. It recently added daily Vietnamese breakfasts of sticky rice, sandwiches and rice soup to the extensive lunch and dinner menu. Prices start at $1.99.
Kampai
Coming soon to the now-closed Dao's Hunan location on Swan Road and Speedway Boulevard is Kampai, a sushi bar. Here's hoping they enhance the curb appeal.

Barefoot Contessa
Coming soon to the northwest is the all-you-can-eat Barefoot Contessa, dishing up healthy Italian food handed down through generational recipes including grilled panini for lunch, plus traditional dinner favorites served family-style. Stay tuned for the address and opening date.
The Real Burger King
