What was the first concert you ever saw?
The Cure when I was 13. I borrowed some clothes from the cool girl in my class and couldn't sleep for two days before the show.
What CDs are in your changer right now?
Tegan and Sara, Shout Out Louds, Kate Nash, Die Fantastischen Vier (a band from Germany), Róisín Murphy and a homemade compilation a friend gave me.
How many total albums do you own (CDs, vinyl, cassettes, 8-tracks)?
Never counted them. A lot, I guess. Music has always been a big part of my life.
Do you download music, and if so, legally or illegally?
I have about 60 gigabytes of music on my laptop, most of it my own stuff, but I also download, both ways. ... Though I always buy music from bands that are not on a big record label.
What was the first album you owned?
Nena and (another album, by) the Sugarhill Gang. I saved my pocket money for several weeks.
What song would you like to have played at your funeral?
A few days ago, I dreamt that a friend of mine died. There was an African band playing drums; people were all dressed up, drinking champagne and dancing. I think I'm going to steal this idea.
Musically speaking, what do you love that your friends don't know about? What's your favorite guilty pleasure?
Some cheesy pop music, like ABBA and Britney Spears and German schlager music.
What band or artist changed your life, and how?
I grew up listening to my parents' Pink Floyd albums. Later, New Model Army and the Levellers, two bands from England I've seen countless times all around Europe.
