Erin Bradley deserves a doctorate in domestic arts, boho-style. A painter by vocation, she's also sewn all her life, and her latest passion is reconstructing vintage clothing into fabulous, fun wear with an au courant flair. With Emilie Marchand, of the band Pearl Handled Pistol, she recently opened the clothing-and-accessories boutique Preen, on Congress Street. Until recently, she co-managed Elysian Grove as a bed and breakfast with her chef husband, Scott Wheeler. With Wheeler, Marchand and Marchand's husband, Mike Bagesse, Bradley also organized the underground, multimedia, culinary experience known as The Lifestyle of Art and Leisure.

What was the first concert you ever saw?

I don't know why, but En Vogue when I was 13 in Oakland, Calif.

What CDs are in your changer right now?

I am very low-tech and am still sporting the same boom box I've had for almost 10 years, but I have had a daily addiction for awhile now to Band of Horses, Everything All the Time; Howe Gelb, 'Sno Angel Like You; Arcade Fire, Neon Bible; Royal Trux; and always Willie Nelson.

How many total albums do you own (CDs, vinyl, cassettes, 8-tracks)?

Maybe 200. I've honestly never counted.

Do you download music, and if so, legally or illegally?

No. I can barely check my e-mail.

What was the first album you owned?

Culture Club, Colour by Numbers.

What song would like to have played at your funeral?

"New Morning" by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

Musically speaking, what do you love that your friends don't know about? What's your favorite guilty pleasure?

Old Southern gospel, and then there's a darker side of me that loves Current 93, Nurse With Wound and Experimental Audio Research.

What band or artist changed your life, and how?

Lucinda Williams. The first time I listened to her it happened to be at a real coming-of-age time for me. It was as if she had tapped into my soul. She became my daily therapy for years.

Figurative gun to your head, what is your favorite album of all time?

Spiritualized, Pure Phase.
