What was the first concert you ever saw?
My mom dragged us all out to see Marie Osmond when I was really young. I don't remember the year, but I do remember "Paper Roses." The first one I wanted to see was Creedence Clearwater Revisited at the fairgrounds. I was, like, 12, and didn't care that there was no Fogerty.

The Polyphonic Spree; Continued Story by Daniel Johnston; Tangerine by David Mead; and ... Is It Something I Said? by Richard Pryor.
How many total albums do you own (CDs, vinyl, cassettes, 8-tracks)?
Probably only 100. I sell a lot of them on the Internet.
Do you download music, and if so, legally or illegally?
Illegally, but rarely. And if I download more than about five songs off of one album, I end up buying it anyway.
What was the first album you owned?
Then and Now ... The Best of the Monkees. I never quite got over that album, either. Those songs are a lot better than most people give them credit for.
What song would you like to have played at your funeral?
I would want one of those Walgreens cassettes of Halloween sound effects. You know, the ones with the doors creakin' and the ladies screaming. Yeah, that would work.
Musically speaking, what do you love that your friends don't know about? What's your favorite guilty pleasure?
My friends know that I love angry chick music. Fiona Apple, Rilo Kiley, Christina Aguilera's girl-power anthems and Kenny Rogers--he'll be an angry chick if he reads this.
What band or artist changed your life, and how?
They Might Be Giants, because I have been listening to them as far back as I can remember, and they taught me that no subject should go without a song.
Figurative gun to your head, what is your favorite album of all time?
My heart tells me Songs in the Key of Life by Stevie, but my ribs tell me When the Pawn ... by Fiona.
