Justin Bernard is one busy mofo. Even while he's pursuing a degree in Russian language, he finds time to manage local musical equipment store Sticks n' Strings; play drums in scratchingthesurface and guitar in the soon-to-be-renamed Knuckle Dragger; and give drum lessons on Sundays.

What was the first concert you ever saw?

It was Rush--I was 10. That girl can sing!

What CDs are in your changer right now?

Sufjan Stevens, Illinois; Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, self-titled; Broken Social Scene, You Forgot It in People; The Go! Team, Thunder, Lightning, Strike.

How many total albums do you own (CDs, vinyl, cassettes, 8-tracks)?

About 300 CDs, 40 vinyls. Every time I buy a CD, it seems like I lose two other ones.

Do you download music, and if so, legally or illegally?

I usually download legally on iTunes.

What was the first album you owned?

I think it was The Police, Synchronicity.

What song would you like to have played at your funeral?

After 15 minutes of silence, play anything slow and emotional from Ween. Then I want a mariachi band to come out at midnight.

Musically speaking, what do you love that your friends don't know about? What's your favorite guilty pleasure?

Everything I listen to is the best ever. No guilt.

What band or artist changed your life, and how?

The Deftones, The Police and Fugazi probably changed my life the most, because they had the biggest influence on my drumming.

Figurative gun to your head, what is your favorite album of all time?

Pixies, Trompe le Monde.
