Justin Roberts is a union steamfitter and a Tucson native who's been a local music fan ever since he saw his first Feast Upon Cactus Thorns and Malignus Youth shows, back in junior high. As his answers below attest, he says he's a "fan of almost any kind of music, as long as it's done well."

What was the first concert you ever saw?

M.C. Hammer, Vanilla Ice, En Vogue.

What CDs are in your changer right now?

Waylon Jennings, I've Always Been Crazy; Madball, The Best of Madball; Bruce Springsteen, Devils and Dust; Alabama Thunderpussy, Fulton Hill; Talib Kweli and Hi Tek, Reflection Eternal; Motorhead, No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith.

How many total albums do you own (CDs, vinyl, cassettes, 8-tracks)?

Around 350 CDs, 120 records and six cassettes.

Do you download music, and if so, legally or illegally?

No.

What was the first album you owned?

Van Halen, 1984.

What song would you like to have played at your funeral?

It would have to be either Ray Charles' "Unchain My Heart" or The Band's "Up on Cripple Creek."

Musically speaking, what do you love that your friends don't know about? What's your favorite guilty pleasure?

Matthew Sweet and Peter Murphy.

What band or artist changed your life, and how?

It's a toss up between Black Flag and Bad Brains. I've only one word that explains how: catharsis.

Figurative gun to your head, what is your favorite album of all time?

Son Volt, Trace.
