    Re: “Tucson Salvage
This narrative on another Tucson life hits me deeply. I can remember so many details of my 20 years in Tucson through Louie's story, including "Luke's" and the "Chatterbox". From hitchhiking into town in 1980 and sleeping in the Dez' and the egg salad sandwiches made by the Sister murdered at the church on Country Club to mountains of pot and pounds of coke to prison in Douglas to gazing out of the second floor bedroom window at the Catalinas from my Tucson Mountain Foothills home on my way to an administrative position at the UofA. The true mystery of Tucson is that all things are possible and every story amazing . I'm currently living in the ghetto of Zion, IL. a Chicago suburb with two "Luke's Italian Beef" nearby, who knows what life has instore??

I remember when the LOFT was a small cinema by the University on 6th St. across from the laundry mat that played the Rocky Horror Picture show every weekend.....

I spent 16 years working on the team that cared for the stadium field while winning the STMA , Sports Turf Managers Association Award for the BEST Athletic Field in the nation one year. The condition of the turf in this picture clearly illustrates that the importance of the safety and quality of the field of play has taken a secondary position to that of the spectator and their experience. The BUSINESS of Collegiate Athletics is appalling when one considers the amount of money generated by unpaid student athletes.
