Getting old sucks. And while you don’t need to be old to have a few laughs at Last Vegas, you’re probably not in the market for four guys with an average age of 70 headlining a movie if you’re not without shouting distance of your golden years. For what it’s worth, Last Vegas isn’t terrible, just terribly safe and basic. It’s what happens when four aging friends (Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Kline) get together for a bachelor party in Sin City, with some things that would never happen thrown in to break the monotony. De Niro is somnambulant but Kevin Kline really shows up here. It’s a shame it’s in something so disposable, but he’s still very funny. In short: How bad could a movie with these four guys possibly be, anyway? Low ceiling here but a pretty high floor.
