As Tom Denahy reports, In America there is no shortage of "stuck on stupid."

For nearly a century Arizona (legislature, courts, business) practiced an unwritten "Open Border Policy" to provide an elastic supply of "cheap Mexican labor" used to build Arizona business enterprises and infrastructure. This included recruitment in Mexico and mob directed human trafficking, on behalf of Arizona "big shots" like Arrowhead Ranch owner Robert Goldwater, brother of Barry.

Don't believe me? Then Read "The Arizona Project" written by I.R.E. reporter Michael Wendland. https://www.amazon.com/Arizona-Project-inv…

    Hey DANEHY!

Since we are remembering 'the good old days,' how about a shout-out for "The Best Demonstration in Tucson?" or "The Best Riot in Tucson?"

Although nobody realized it at the time, April 10, 2006 was the Beginning of the End for the local "Raza"movement, and their demented dream to re-unify the American southwest with Mexico, or establish Aztlan and "send the Gringos Back to Plymouth Rock!"

How come they don't march by the tens of thousands anymore? How come they no longer proclaim "Viva La Raza" or wave Mexican Flags?

What (or who) stopped them? Alan Ward, aka "The Sandwich Maker?"

    Letter to the Editor:

15 years ago the Tucson Weekly aggressively advocated for Isabel Garcia, Derechos Humanos and the rest of the Open Borders, Pro Raza Lobby. In 2006 15,000 marched in Tucson's streets carrying Mexican flags, shouting "Viva La Raza", demanding permanent open borders and reunification with Mexico.

Anyone who objected and stood in their way was labeled "racist."

Today, the country and Pima County have massively changed. The Wall is going up. We no longer see Mexican flags waving in the streets and crowds shouting "Viva La Raza!"

What happened to the marchers and the Mexican Flags? What happened to Isabel Garcia and the Raza Movement? What happened to the 15 people who, on April 10, 2006 defied the 15,000, burned 2 Mexican flags and declared:

"Arizona will never again be Mexico. Here in Pima County we Americans will make our stand!"

Is it not yet time for the Tucson Weekly to perform its function as a source for community news and NOT simply as a vehicle for left wing propaganda and spin?

I am now writing a book on that era, working title "The Battle for Armory Park" A first draft of the first 4 chapters may be found here:

    Tom:

    Time for a "reality check."

WHY do you love the communists so much. What have THEY ever done except spread misery, poverty and despair across the globe? The American Left Wing, Pro-Communist movement is exhausted. Even democrats like Klobuchar and Buttigieg "get it," as a New Generation moves away from the extreme left to the center.

    Trump "cultists?"
    "Trump's wall?"
Bob Dylan sang "The times are a-changing"
They have changed Tom! And Tucson lefties and decades of Open Border Policy, which you championed, are a BIG reason for that change and WHY Trump was elected!
How about an interview, Tom? In 2006 SPLC said: "Roy Warden is the most controversial, volatile and some say dangerous person to emerge in this year's immigration debate?"
TW reports "controversial issues', doesn't it Tom?
    Or have you gone "straight?"
