Brian, I've been a part of all of this failed baseball attempts as well as two failed ice hockey teams as their announcer. Although I love Tucson for many reasons including all of the wonderful people, it really is a pathetic community when it comes to supporting sports teams that don't bear the U of A logo. It really is sad. Everyone moans and complains that Tucson City Council can't accomplish much because they drag their feet. Tusconans are no better when it comes to supporting a professional sports alternative.
Good luck to both of you. Assinign moves like this only prove once again that the folks in charge of the radio medium know nothing about running it. Exactly why I will never be a part of it again. Terristrial radio blows!
Well writen, John. I totally agree with you. This is exactly why I love Sirus/Xm or Pandora and haven't sampled terrestral radio in years. Their model is broken and stupidity and ignorance stops them from fixing it. Goodbye radio.
"A controlled socialist marxist liberal media?" Really? You are delusional. I was in the media for over 25 years and NOTHING was controlled. Do you event know what your reference means? Of course not, you've never tuned away from FOX NEWS. Pathetic.
Well put John. Radio as we know it is just about done. The suits could have saved it a long time ago, but chose to ignore the problems and collect as much revenue as possible. Greed has put a lot of good people out of the business and they are to blame. And why would Clear Channel develop "I Heart Radio"? To ride the Pandora wave of competition and drive terrestrial radio further down the food chain. They're killing their own product to make a buck insuring that the suits will still make money long after terrestrial radio is gone. Sad.
