This is a well done article and an appropriate tribute to the work Mike did while at the helm of SoAZ NORML. However, attending one of his meetings or working with him on projects is the only way to fully comprehend what Mike Robinette is all about --- optimum energy, total commitment and effective action. Those things and his unsinkable belief in the cause are the base of his success. If there's one thing that volunteers who worked with him would agree on......He made NORML fun.

The real "dirty money" is that given to congressional legislators by "donors". In this instance these donors are primarily the major players in the pharmaceutical industry and also the alcoholic beverage industry. The money given is payola pure and simple....to keep marijuana on Schedule I. And the money hungry (mostly) Senators eat it up and lick their bowls clean----with NO ACCOUNTABILITY. Why does no one ever talk about this?????????????

This article made no mention of encroachment (by development) and disease which were the two main suspected causes of the herd's disappearance in the '90's, the lack of environmental assessment prior to the relocation, the tracking down and killing of several mountain lions -- for doing what mountain lions do, or that one of the prime movers in the relocation project was the Arizona Bighorn Sheep Society, a hunting group who stated back in 2014 that it would be about 10 years before the relocated herd would be hunted-----as in trophy hunting.

Let's talk about the reasons the Republicans oppose any federal marijuana legislation.
It's all about sustaining those generous contributions from their "donors". No wonder congress members spend the majority of their time "dialing for dollars". The money comes from corporations, special interest groups and unions. And legislators all drink the Kool Aid....some more than others. In the case of marijuana prohibition, there are mainly 3 industries that generously contribute to protect their economic paradigms which are threatened by federal reform---- Big Pharma, Big Alcohol and Big Prison. It's "pay-to-play politics". We've traded our democracy for a "corporatocracy".

And why can't the Senate seem to get around to legalizing cannabis federally? Why won't they even bring it up for serious discussion? Why is the will of the majority of Americans being disregarded? It's all about the golden rule---"He who has the money makes the rules." Pay - to- play politics---alive and well. All legal, but fully corrupt and totally undemocratic. As long as Big Pharma, Big Alcohol and private prisons give legislators money to line their campaign war chests, we will have to endure this disparity of justice. Nothing has changed since 1937.

Marijuana was never a problem until it was falsely villainized and made illegal. Unlike alcohol, guns and cigarettes....all legal but potentially deadly...there has never been a death caused directly by marijuana. But like alcohol and all other modern choices, including sex, it's parents responsibility to monitor their own children rather than try to ban choices --- because they have failed in their parental duties. YES on 207.

Head over to Burger King for the Impossible Burger. Carl's Jr. serves the Beyond Famous Star. Both plant based and totally satisfying. Most people cannot tell the difference between these 2 and a traditional beef burger.
