Jerry Riopelle - SERIOUSLY? We used to see him live at the old Pawnbroker - one of the best entertainer/singer/songwriters ever. I still have to flip on Sweet Naomi once in awhile.

I'm not sure what you do to get an Emmy in sound design, but apparently you don't need to know a helluva lot of physics nor physiology. Perceived loudness of a sound is logarithmically proportional to its sound pressure (Google Weber–Fechner law). Therefore, four planes do not sound four times as loud as one plane.
